Please take a few moments to review the following items prior to applying to adopt a dog. Check out our FAQ’s and review our ‘all things information’ post. This provides valuable insight and can answer most questions you may have, even those about the application and adoption process.

 

Remember there is a $15 application processing fee donation which can be paid via one of the services here. Thanks for your interest in adopting a dog into a forever home. Without caring people like you, we would not be successful in saving the lives of so many ‘angels’.


If you are an approved adopter, and have not adopted, you have first choice of the next dog you are interested in, as long as we feel the dog is the right fit and has the right personality for their home.

    Let me tell you a funny story about a lazy dog. Now see, this lazy dog was not one of the small dog breeds nor was he one of the big dog breeds. He appeared to be a Pitbull dog and I found him when searching for dog shelters near me. So, of course, I decided to adopt a dog.

    I stopped on the way to pick up my new furry friend and picked up some dog food and a lottery ticket. I wanted to take my chance at winning a million dollars just in case I ended up in the dog house with my wife. I’m just kidding by the way, she was totally on board. Adopting an animal is a family decision. 


    Needless to say, for me, it wasn’t a long drive as there are several amazing dog rescues offering dog adoption near me. That is why I love living in Delaware. So now, thanks to this local dog rescue my new friend (I need male dog names btw) is home at last. I know he was happy cause all you could hear was a dog barking with joy to his new home. This was a few years back and now my wife and I have decided to consider fostering dogs as now I see the impact a dog foster has on these non-profit organizations.
